When old friends met again
The fans did not have to wait long today to witness the most eagerly-anticipated meeting between Australian duo Steve Smith and David Warner -- both serving international bans, as they came out to represent their respective teams Comilla Victorians and Sylhet Sixers at the toss today during the second day of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The duo are playing their first seasons in Bangladesh's premier competition and there was a lot of excitement among fans to see them together after they had not played together since the ball-tampering row took place. One was the captain while Warner was the vice-captain when the incident took place in South Africa that led to bans for both along with Cameron Bancroft.
The two players were however all smiles during the toss regardless of what was said by either following the scandal that rocked Australia cricket. The two captains shook hands and chatted as they got together out in the middle.
Warner's first-ever innings however ended badly as he was given out wrongly by the third umpire after a grave mix-up with his batting partner at the other end in Towhid Hridoy.
Before he left the crease, he was seen having his own masterclass with none other than dashing Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi.
Tamim Iqbal meanwhile was seen talking his opening partner Liton Das, who came out to bat at the top of the innings for Sylhet.
