Attempted kidnapping: 4 asked to surrender
The High Court has directed four persons to surrender over attempted kidnapping of a female Dhaka University student.
High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Md Mostafizur Rahman rejected bail to the four accused in this case today.
It directed them to surrender before a trial court by February 6.
Accused Tofiuzzaman Jewel, Mohammad Omar Faruqe alias Manik, Mohamamd Rana and Mohammad Ferdous appeared before the court for anticipatory bail.
As per the case statement, they tried to kidnap a third-year student of Dhaka University from her Lalmonirhat residence on January 2 this year.
Her mother filed the case with Hatibandha Police Station, Lalmonirhat, on January 4 against the four under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Advocate FRM Hasanuzzaman Uzzal appeared for the accused.
