At least three activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in multiple clashes between two rival groups of BCL unit of Rajshahi University (RU) on the campus last night.
The injured students are Anik, third year student of Department of Economics, and Maruf and Asif, second year students of Department of Public Administration of the university. All are members of RU unit BCL.
The clash originated from a scuffle amongst the trio at the university’s Sabash Bangladesh playground in the afternoon over a cricket match, reports our university correspondent quoting witnesses.
After a few hours, Anik along with his supporters beat up Maruf and Asif with cricket bats and stumps in front of Shahidullah Arts Building in the evening.
