Proteas need to achieve the highest-ever chase in World Cups

Proteas need to achieve the highest-ever successful chase in World Cups after Tigers posted 330 for six at The Oval today. Their previous best chase in World Cups came in 2011 when they assailed India's 296 runs with two wickets in hand. The previous all-time successful chase was accomplished by Ireland against England.

The Tigers completed a few records in today's match.

Bangladesh ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan and wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim strung together a 142-run third-wicket partnership -- their highest partnership for any wicket in World Cup for the Tigers.

Bangladesh posted 330 for six -- their highest ever ODI total -- in their World Cup opener against South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London today.

After losing both their openers in the 12th over for 75 runs, Shakib and Mushfiqur went on to build on the decent start provided by the two openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar.
