Ten-day art and literary fair concludes in Manikganj
A ten-day art and literary fair at Manikganj Government High School concluded with prize distributions and cultural functions, recently.
Manikganj District Administration organised the fair, in observance of Mujib Barsha. Health and Family Welfare Minister Jahid Maleaque Sawapam, MP, formally inaugurated the event.
SM Ferdous, Deputy Commissioner, Manikganj, handed over the prizes to the winners of the competitions and the top three stalls.
Team Manikganj Sadar Upazila won the first prize in team category, while Roksana Akter Liza won in the Nazrul and Rabindra Sangeet category. Shahnaj Poly received the prize for modern songs. Other prizes were given to Arobinda Mandal and Sathi Akter from Harirampur Upazila, in the patriotic and folk song categories, respectively. Mustafizur Rahman Mamun from Manikganj Municipality won in the recitation category. The best three stalls were Department of Agriculture Extension, Department of Public Health and Manikganj Municipality, respectively. Manikganj District Council received a special prize in the stall category.
Chairman of Manikganj Zila Parishad Golam Mohiuddin, Public Prosecutor of Manikganj Judge Court Abdus Salam, Deputy Director of Local Government Fauzia Khan, Former Vice President of Manikganj District Sports Association, General Secretary of Manikganj Diabetic Association Sultanul Azam Khan Apel, along with, Chairman of Manikganj Sadar Upazila Parishad Israfil Hossain, Deputy Commander of Manikganj District Unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Momin Uddin Khan and Executive Magistrate of the District Administration Farzana Yasmin were present at the event.
