Teacher held for sexually harassing boy in Rangpur

Police yesterday arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly harassing an 11-year-old boy in Rangpur's Kaunia upazila.

The arrestee Abu Hossain (22) is a teacher of Chawrahat Rahmania Hafezia Nurani Madrasa in Doyanipara village in the upazila, our Rangpur correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-Charge of Haragachh Police Station Rezaul Karim.

The child is a residential student at the madrasa. He was called to the teacher's room late in the night on Sunday and was allegedly sexually harassed by the teacher, police official said.

The child informed his father who later filed a case with the police station accusing Abu Hossain.

Police managed to arrest the man in an hour from his workplace. He was presented in the local court today over this case.
