The Flavours of Summer

All year round, the people of Bangladesh wait for summer to arrive, despite the heat and humidity. This is the season in which the sweet fragrances of the most scrumptious fruits -- litchis, berries, pineapples, jackfruits and the many different varieties of mangoes-- waft through every household. Trucks filled with crates of mangoes and litchis arrive at all the markets all the way from districts like Rajshahi and Dinajpur. While the concern of formalin may still exist, this does not stop sales from soaring.
