Schoolgirl falls sick, dies during school assembly at Dhaka’s Farmgate
A ninth grader died after she fell sick during the daily assembly at a school in Dhaka's Farmgate area this morning.
The deceased, Sharon Susanna Mullick (14), was a class 9 student of Holy Cross Girls High School.
Roseline Sara, a senior teacher of the school, said the student was suffering from a disease since 2019.
She collapsed on the ground during the assembly around 7:30am today, the teacher said.
Sharon Susanna was rushed to a hospital at Farmgate where doctor declared her dead, she said.
Kajal D Mullick, the deceased's father, said "My daughter had an incurable disease named Systemic sclerosis and we were informed by doctors that anything bad can happen to her anytime."
The father said they have no complaints over the death.
Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Police Station, said a police team visited the school and the victim's house after hearing her death news.
