Miraz named in Wisden's ODI team of the year
Mehedi Hasan Miraz's rise on the international stage continues as the ace all-rounder has capped 2022 off with a place in Wisden's ODI team of the year.
The 25-year-old has taken 24 wickets at an average of 28.20 while going for 5.44 runs an over in the 15 ODIs he has played this year.
But the most significant and noticeable improvement that he has made in 2022 has been his batting. The right-handed batter amassed 330 runs at an average of 66 while striking it at 84.18. This run in the 50-over format featured some very memorable knocks including the 81 not out against Afghanistan in February where he along with Afif Hossain put together a 174-run stand for the seventh wicket to win Bangladesh the match.
In the home series against India, Miraz, scored an unbeaten 38 in the first ODI to clinch the match for the Tigers and then smashed his maiden ton in the second match to seal a monumental series victory against India.
With the ball in hand, he scalped two four-wicket hauls on winning causes against South Africa and then the West Indies.
