'Bangladesh-India friendship pipeline will contribute to energy security'
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said the Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline will effectively contribute to energy security.
"This will be a milestone in providing fuel to northern parts of the country in an uninterrupted, fast and affordable manner," the state minister said while inspecting the progress of the pipeline at Parbatipur in Dinajpur.
"One of the main conditions of development is uninterrupted power and energy supply. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has been doing this successfully for the last 14 years," he further added.
In 2018, the foundation stone for the construction of Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline was laid to provide fuel supply to 16 districts of the northern parts of the country.
