Young, Nicholls steady NZ ship after initial struggles
New Zealand batters Will Young and Henry Nicholls out on a 63-run stand to help the Blackcaps overcome their initial struggles that saw them lose two wickets for 19 runs after nine overs in the ODI opener against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
After the completion of 22 overs, the Blackcaps managed to score 77 runs for the loss of two. Young remained unbeaten on 33 off 71 balls, while Nicholls managed a 38-ball 28 to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Earlier, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman struck twice in the Powerplay to dismiss Finn Allen and Chad Bowes.
