Citizens to get smart ID cards soon: Minister
Smart national identity cards will be distributed among citizens very soon as preparation for their distribution is almost completed, Law Minister Anisul Huq told parliament today.
Anisul, who is also in charge of the Election Commission Secretariat in parliamentary affairs, said the cards will be considered as “sustainable security features” having 25 security marks in three stages.
In a scripted reply, the minister said in the first stage, the security features will be visible without any device and in the second stage the features will be sighted using UV light, magnifying glass and such other equipment.
In the third state, security marks will be sighted after forensic test in laboratory, the minister added.
