Prangonemor's theatre fest begins today
A weeklong theatre festival titled "Dui Banglar Natya Melay Rabindranath O Annanyo" begins today at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The fest, organised by theatre troupe Prangonemor, will run simultaneously in two venues of BSA —National Theatre Hall and Experimental Theatre Hall -- featuring 13 theatrical productions from Bangladesh and India.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival at the National Theatre Hall in presence of eminent thespians and cultural personalities including Ataur Rahman, Cultural Affairs Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas, IGCC Director Sidhartho Chattyopadhyay and BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky.
Apart from eight popular plays by leading troupes, five plays from India will be staged at the fest. Also, a group of noted
theatre actors from India will perform in the festival.
The festival is dedicated to late actor-director Khaled Khan.
