Avengers: Infinity War

Set to release on April 25, 2018, this very highly anticipated movie, “Avengers: Infinity War” from the Marvel Studios is intended to be a sequel to 2012's “The Avengers” and 2015's “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. This time, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers are set against the “despot of intergalactic infamy”, the most powerful enemy yet -- evil Thanos. To defeat him and to save humanity, the Avengers must unite against him and be prepared for anything. Directed by the Russo brothers - Anthony Russo and Joe Russo - the movie features Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Josh Brolin as Thanos, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and even Vin Diesel as groot among others.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Yo ho ho for the Star Wars fans. The second film of the Star Wars Anthology Series, after the fist one titled- “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, is set to release on May 25, 2018. This fantasy, science fiction and action film is being awaited by the millions worldwide. The movie is centred around Han Solo, a character from the Star Wars franchise. Hence the name “Solo”. The movie portrays Han Solo and Chewbacca's adventures before joining the Rebellion, including their early encounters with Lando Calrissian, according to IMDB. Directed by Ron Howard, maker of Academy Award winning “A Beautiful Mind” and “The Da Vinci Code”, the movie casts Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Emilia Clarke as Kira.

Annihilation

The fantasy Sci-fi movie “Annihilation” promises to show some high-end biological sci-fi in a very mysterious setup that is going to thrill the audience. In the movie, a biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don't apply in a mission to save her husband, says IMDB. The movie is scheduled to release on February 22, 2018 initially in Brazil. Based on Jeff Vander Meer’s best-selling Southern Reach Trilogy, Annihilation stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny and Oscar Isaac. It was written and directed by Alex Garland, director of Ex Machina.

Ocean's 8

A retake on Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean's Trilogy featuring all female lead roles, “Ocean’s 8” is making quite a buzz among the movie lovers out there. In this heist-comedy film, a criminal mastermind, Debbie Ocean, and seven other female thieves try to pull off the heist of the century at New York's yearly Met Gala. Directed by Gary Ross it is all set to release on June 8, 2018. The movie produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh is jam packed with stars like Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Katie Holmes and Matt Damon among others.

Ready Player One

Steven Spielberg will create something and that will not be awaited by many, that simply can't happen. “Ready Player One” is what he will deliver the world in 2018. This adventure, action sci-fi is set to release initially on March 29, 2018 in Brazil. It is based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller Science Fiction novel of the same name. The plot of the story has already scintillated and tantalised us to a great extent. Set in 2045, the movie shows a world on the brink of ruin. The only solace that humanity has is the virtual reality existence named OASIS, where all the fun, excitement and adrenaline rush begins after a contest is declared by the creator of OASIS that takes hold of the whole world. X-Men: Dark Phoenix

2018 is likely to witness two movies from the X-Men franchise - - “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” and “The New Mutants”. The fifth installment of the Jurassic Park film series, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is intended to be the sequel to “Jurassic World” (2015). M:I 6 - Mission Impossible

Tom Cruise is back with the 6th installment of his Mission Impossible series with “M:I 6 - Mission Impossible”. Nothing much is known about the plot line of the movie yet but all that we can infer that our international undercover spy will be on a yet another breathtaking journey to uncover secrets, solve mysteries and possibly to save the world from evil doers through some high doses of action packed sequences. The movie has been written, co-produced and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and is expected to hit the US theatres on July 27, 2018. The movie casts stars like Tom Cruise, Michelle Monaghan, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin among others.

Tenth of the JK Rowling's Wizarding World and second of Fantastic Beasts series, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is yet another hugely anticipated movies of 2018. Written by JK Rowling and directed by David Yates the movie stars Johnny Depp, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Eddie Redmayne, Zoë Kravitz and others. The New Mutants

Another X-Men movie that we were talking about earlier is “The New Mutants”. It tells the story of five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves. This action, horror, Sci-Fi, fantasy will be released initially in US theatres on April 13, 2018. Directed by Josh Boone it features Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Maisie Williams and others.

 

Among all these live action scintillating and breathtaking movies, there are some animation films that are also being highly anticipated. So, movies like “The Incredibles 2”, “Early Man” and “The Happytime Murders” should also be on your movies-to-watch-in 2018 list.
