Socratic is a free-to-use app which can answer your questions at the click of a button.

Let's say that you are studying for your A levels exams or HSCs, but you run into a sentence you don't fully understand. With Socratic you can take a picture of the question and just like that, it will provide you an answer. It's a quick way to find solutions to equations you are finding difficult or if you are struggling to understand a chemistry formula. It not only solves mathematical equations for you but also provides breakdown of each step in between. It doesn't just rely on its own search engine to find answers either. It will pull relevant answers from Yahoo, Google and Bing so that you can cross reference the answer to your query. It has a clean design and is really easy to use.

However it can run into problems if the picture you take has a lot of text on it but that's only if it contains 5 sentences or more. It also comes with a manual type-in option in case you do not get the answer you were looking for.

Overall, Socratic is a handy tool to keep around for doing your homework or for solving problems which are giving you trouble.
