CAR MECHANIC SIMULATOR 2015: BE THE MECHANIC
There are many among us who have a thing for automobiles. Racing games can satisfy our desire to customize and drive cars but they cannot however satisfy our eagerness about diving deeper into the machinery inside vehicles. But now, we have a game that allows us to do so.
Car Mechanic Simulator 2015
Developer: RedDot
Publisher: PlayWay
Engine: Unity3D
Platform: Microsoft Windows
Release Date: April 23, 2015
In this game, you start off as a beginner car mechanic who has just opened up a garage. Customers will call you on your phone and offer you to fix their car. You can either choose to do the job or refuse it without any consequences. When you accept the job, the broken car will arrive on your garage. When you are at an initial stage of your career, you will be given a list of all the parts that need repairing. However, when you become an expert, you will no longer be given that list. You will only be told what issues the customer is facing with his/her car and you need to figure out which part(s) needs repairing. You can see the car in different modes which allow you to have a better understanding of the car's internals. You can make the body of the car transparent and/or toggle Conditions Mode, which label the different parts of the car green, yellow or red depending on the condition the part is in. The car can be placed at different places of the garage and with the help of a crane, you can elevate the car and take a look at the parts that are located at the bottom of the vehicle. After you have managed to identify what's wrong with the car, you can look up on an in-game auto parts shop from the computer in your desk for that part. After you buy the part you require, you have to detach the broken part and replace it with the part you just bought. Replacing a part isn't a cakewalk though because you will often have to disassemble and reassemble almost the whole car to replace a tiny part. After you are done repairing the car, you can choose to either return the car to the owner or take out the car on a test drive on the testing track of your workshop.
Right off the bat, you'll notice that the graphics in this game are not that great. This can be attributed mostly to the Unity3D Engine but since this is not a AAA game, it is not really that big of a deal. The loading times in this game, however, are insane and there is no excuse for such lengthy loading times. The gameplay is fun, depending on what type of person you are. Majority of the game deals with screwing and unscrewing which can prove to be boring and tedious if you are an impatient gamer like me. For the more patient ones among you, this will not prove to be much of a problem and you will enjoy playing it.
So the bottom line is, if the internals of a vehicle are something that excites you and patience is something you have a lot of, don't miss out on Car Mechanic Simulator 2015!
