Prisons are supposed to be reformatory centres. However, in Bangladesh, they are nothing less than torturous, punitive concentration camps. In these over congested prisons, the inmates are treated like savages by the prison workers whose morale is at the lowest ebb. This week the Star Weekend has revealed some of the most unheard stories, about how thousands of lives are rotting inside the prisons of Bangladesh.
