JnU suspends 11 students over anti-state activities
The authorities of Jagannath University (JnU) have suspended 11 students from the university on charge of undermining law and order through anti-state activities and damaging the sovereignty of the country.
The suspended students are: Ibrahim Ali, Md Mehedi Hasan, and Mohammad Obaidul from Political Science department; Israfil Hossain from History department; Al Mamun Ripon from Music department; Mehedi Hasan from Public Administration department; Rowshon Ul Ferdous and Shahin Islam from Accounting & Information System department; Shraban Islam Rahat from Bangla department; Fahad Hossain from Management Studies department; and Abdur Rahman from Zoology department.
"Eleven students were suspended from the university on March 30 after a criminal case was filed against them," JnU Registrar Md Ohiduzzaman told The Daily Star.
Police arrested 11 JnU students from the capital's Kotwali area for doing anti-state activities on the night of March 24.
Later, a case was filed with Kotwali Police Station against them in this regard.
