The Dhamrai Jagannath Rathjatra fair in Dhamrai is an attraction few would like to miss. Strange and sometimes a little risqué circus acts, clever puppet shows and beautifully crafted bronze and other metal statues as well as clay figurines are the main crowd pullers of this mela. The Rathjatra signifies the journey of Lord Jagannath, along with his sister Subdhara and brother Balaram to his aunt's house in the sea. People from all over Bangladesh – worshippers and non-worshipers come to experience the vibrancy of the festival.
