On the Streets …

Photo Story By : Munir Ahmed Ananta

ISHTIAQ AHMED, Dealer (RFL Plastic)
FARUK HOSSAIN, Workshop Owner

I think Obama was more liberal than the conservative Romney. My relatives in the
US say Obama is good for Bangladeshis.

I am happy for Obama's triumph because he withdrew US military from Afganistan.

MD JAHID, Betel Leaf Seller
KAMRAN HAIDER, Garments Exporter

I am for Obama, as he has Muslim ancestry
and is supported by the majority in our country, according to the newspapers,
I think. That's all I know.

Obama assuming power for the second time might just be useful for the garments sector. I hope Obama would reinitiate the quota forexporting garments to the US. 2

SHORAFAT HOSSAIN MONA, Drug Shop Owner
MIZANUR RAHMAN, Sales Ex (Kwality Icecream)

Because Obama has Muslim ancestry I am happy. Romney would have been aggressive.

Compared to previous US presidents, Obama is sympathetic towards Muslims.

SYED ALI TAQI, Student
HARUNUR RASHID, Landlord
I hope a liberal Obama would help more foreign students to get into the US.

I thought Obama was tolerant towards all. I hope he will stop the harassment of the Muslims in the US.

SHAKIL IBRAHIM, Shop Owner
SHUBID TALUKDER, Area Manager(Pepsi)

The election does not matter for the third-world countries, I think the US will always be a dominating power to us.

Obama is African-American and belongs to a minority group unlike Romney. American Democrats are more liberal than the Republicans.
