Photography against communalism

AMRA's exhibition opens today at AFD

The Alliance for Mitigating Racism Altogether (AMRA) is holding a weeklong photography exhibition to mark its second anniversary, and to celebrate the International Day for Elimination of Racism on March 21.

The exhibition, titled 'in the name of…' opens today at the La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) and runs till March 28. The photographs at the exhibition are taken by the members of AMRA.

Sanjida Khatun (chairperson and founder member, Chhayanaut), Sultana Kamal (executive director, Ain o Salish Kendra) and Akku Choudhury (trustee and founder director, Liberation War Museum) will inaugurate the exhibition, says a press release.

AMRA started its journey as a volunteer social organisation to combat communalism on March 3, 2013. Since then, its volunteers have gone to the furthest corners of the country to stand beside the victims of communal violence and extend financial, mental and ethical support.
