9-month long film festival concluded today

Arranged by Tareque Masud Film Society (TMFS) in Faridpur, curtains finally closed of the 9 months long Golden Jubilee of Independence Film Festival. The closing ceremony of the festival took place at the society's headquarters in Kamalapur, at 10 am today.

Present at the event were, lyricist Sipra Goswami as chief guest, followed by teacher and cultural patron Rezaul Karim as main speaker and general secretary of TMFS, H.M. Mehedi Hasan as moderator.

As part of their nine-month long celebration, the festival has screened 50 artistic films in different venues across three districts. They had also arranged different programmes like filmmaking workshops, meet the directors, meet the celebrities-- where filmmakers like Morshedul Islam, Tauqir Ahmed, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon and many more have participated.

At the closing ceremony, Sipra Goswami said, "I show my appreciation to the organisers for arranging such a successful nine-month long celebration. I hope such endeavours related to filmmaking will still continue in the future."

The 266 days long celebration kicked off initially at the district Shilpakala Academy on November 4, 2022.
