‘Ma Padak’ honours the mothers of showbiz stars

Marking Mother's Day (May 8), renowned journalist Ovi Moinuddin organised 'Ma Padak 2022', to celebrate the selfless contributions of 'ratna garbha' mothers. This was the first iteration of the award.  

Legendary singer and composer Runa Laila was present at the first edition of this event, as the chief guest.

"Ammajaan" famed actress Shabnam, actress Shabnaz Purnima's mother Sufia Begum, Tarin's mother, Mou's mother Anjuman Nahar, programme producer Anannya Ruma's mother Rahima Begum, Singer Kona's mother Kaniz Fatema, Runa khan's mother Anowara Khan tv host Shanta Jahan's mother Jahanara Begum, singer Pritom Hasan and Protik Hasan's mother Fatema Hasan Polash, and Tanjin Tisha's mother Salma Begum, among four celebrated entertainment journalists' mothers, among others, received this award this year.

The welcome address was presented by journalist Rokib Hassan, who had also named this award. The awards were handed over by Runa Laila in the presence of guests and the press.
