A snippet from ‘Déjà vu’

Water is one of the most essential elements of life in earth. However, with growing civilization, humans are leading towards misuse of the nature -- they are continuing to infect the sea, a major source of water. What if the sea takes revenge? Where will humans go?

Director Rayhan Shoshi has brought up this theme in his short film, "Déjà vu", released on May 14. In a very short span of time, the film has earned accolades and bagged several awards from different international film festivals. It showcases that the cycle of life is parallel to the cycle of water, through the struggles of the people native to sea shores.

Under the banner of Uroop Troop Productions, "Déjà vu" is produced by Farah Naz Alam.  The story, dialogues, screenplay, and editing have been done by the director himself.

The film won the Honourable Jury Mention Award from the 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, along with the Best Philosophical Film Award at the Cannes World Film Festival in France, Special Jury Award from White Unicorn International Film Festival- India, organised by Japan and India, Special Jury Award from Spain's El grito de los sin voz Film Festival.
