Council to boost business with EU: Tofail

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today said a council would be formed soon to boost business between Bangladesh and European countries.

The council titled “EU-Bangladesh Business Council” will be formed with representatives from Bangladesh and envoys of EU countries in Dhaka, the minister said.

“The committee will find out the problems and prospects to boost business with EU countries,” the minister told reporters, after a meeting with an EU delegation at the ministry.

Representatives from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), FBCCI, Dhaka Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chittagong Chambers of Commerce and Industry and, others concerned stakeholders will represent Bangladesh, he said.

“The first meeting of the council will be held in Dhaka in February next year,” Tofail added.
