bKash communications chief Mahfuz Sadique no more

Mahfuz Sadique, the chief communications officer of mobile financial services company bKash, passed away in the capital today. He was 40.

A senior bKash official confirmed the news of his death to Prothom Alo. Mahfuz died around 9:00am today while undergoing treatment at Square Hospitals, the official said.

He was taken to hospital around 7:00am after he complained of pain in his chest. Around 9:00am, doctors said he died of cardiac arrest, the official said.

Mahfuz leaves behind a wife and a son, and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

His namaz-e-Janaza will be held after Asr prayers a Taqwa Jame Mosque in Dhanmondi. His body will later be buried at Rayerbazar graveyard

Mahfuz Sadique joined bKash as the chief communications officer in 2021. Previously, he was a senior journalist at BBC News from 2007 to 2021.
