Turnover on Dhaka Stock Exchange slips below Tk 300 crore

Turnover on the Dhaka Stock Exchange slipped below Tk 300 crore today reflecting investors' persisting worry about the direction of the economy.

One of the key indicators of the market, turnover stood at Tk 271 crore.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, closed at 6,229 after it added 16 points, or 0.26 per cent.

The DS30, the blue-chip index, edged up 0.31 per cent to 2,205 while the DSES, the index that represents shariah-based companies, rose 0.33 per cent to 1,364.

Of the securities traded on the DSE, only 50 issues advanced, 25 declined, and 228 remained unchanged.
