Emon Mostak wins 11th Photoffee photographer of the year

Photographer Emon Mostak Ahmed has won the "11th Photoffee Photographer of the Year Award" for his photographic work titled "In the search of lost harmony."

The award was handed over to him at a programme held at the office of Photoffee Academy of Fine-art Photography yesterday evening (September 23, 2022) where renowned photographer Shafiqul Alam Kiron, Photojournalist and Researcher Shahadat Parvez, Photographer Joy K Roy Chowdhury were present as guests, among others, said a press release.

Emon received a crest, certificate and Tk 20,000 as prize money, said the release.

Born in Lalmonirhat, Emon came to Dhaka for a living. But he did not forget his root. In the alleys of the brick-and-stone town, he searches for the nature he has left behind. For several years, he has been taking photos of the nature of urban life on his mobile phone cameras which was reflected in his photographic work "In the search of lost harmony".

Sirajul Liton, chief coordinator of Photoffee, said they have been giving this award since 2011.

"Our initiative is to encourage promising fine-art photographers," he added.

Prior to Emon, SA Shahriar Ripon, Qamruzzaman, Munem Wasif, Prito Reza, KM Asad, Joy K Roy Chowdhury, Sumon Yusuf, Farida Alam, Salahuddin Ahmed and Reyad Abedin were given this award.

Photoffee Academy of Fine-art Photography is a non-profit organisation which works to promote aesthetic photography, the release concluded.
