RMG workers free Dhaka-Aricha highway after 1hr

Transport movement of Dhaka-Aricha highway was disrupted for an hour after workers of multiple garment factories blocked a single lane of the highway demanding unpaid wages.

The workers freed the highway around 2:00pm after police assured them that they will get their payment by next two days, our Savar correspondent reports quoting ASM Sayeed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.   

Around 12:45pm, the workers blocked the Aricha-Dhaka lane at Savar bazar bus stand point, resulting in at least two kilometers of traffic jam.

The protesting workers alleged that the factory owners did not pay their wages of the previous month.
