Hossaini Dalan blasts: Case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act

Police today filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the blasts at Hossaini Dalan in old part of Dhaka that left one killed and at least 87 injured.

Sub-Inspector Jalal Uddin filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station accusing unidentified persons, Deputy Commissioner Muntasirul Islam of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told The Daily Star.

Meanwhile, terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS) has claimed the responsibility of the bomb attacks, US-based SITE Intelligence Group said yesterday.

Earlier, Dhaka police formed a three-member probe body to look into the incident.

Hours after the blasts, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “We have video footage of the attack. The culprits will be identified soon.”
