Khaleda hits campaign trail for Tabith

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today started campaign for her party-backed mayoral candidate Tabith Awal in the Dhaka North City Corporation elections.

Khaleda, flanked by hundreds of leaders and activists, began the campaign from Pink City at Gulshan-1 in Dhaka around 4:15pm.

During the campaign, Khaleda Zia was waving her hands from inside her car to draw the peoples’ attention while visiting several streets in the area.

She also visited several shops and shopping malls in the area and sought vote for Tabith.

The BNP-led 20-party alliance chief also upheld the portrait of Tabith to make her effort a success.

Later, Khaleda visited Badda and Baridhara areas for encouraging people to vote for her party-backed candidates.

Tabith Awal joined Khaleda when she was campaigning in Banani area around 7:00pm.

BNP men were seen chanting slogans, distributing leaflets and posters among voters and using hand speakers during the campaign.

Khaleda concluded her campaign around 9:30pm after visiting Mohakhali bus stand, Tejgaon Colony Bazar, Hatirjheel and Gulshan Shooting Club areas in the city.

Elections to the Dhaka and Chittagong city corporations will be held on April 28.
