11:45pm: Officials begin to leave Dhaka Central Jail where war criminal Kamaruzzaman has been executed.

11:38pm: Jail authorities starts for Sherpur with ambulence carrying body of war criminal Kamaruzzaman.

10:57pm: Jamaat calls hartal for Monday protesting execution of Al Badr organiser Kamaruzzaman for ‪war crimes.

10:50pm: 26 members of DMP police and a team of RAB will escort the ambulance to take the body of Kamaruzzaman.

10:36pm: Ambulance enterers the jail to take the body of Kamaruzzaman to his Sherpur Sadar village home.

10:30pm: Al Badr organiser Kamaruzzaman has been executed, Inspector General (IG) of Prisons Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin tells The Daily Star.

9:55pm: An ambulance of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrives Dhaka Central jail gate where Kamaruzzaman awaits execution.

6:50pm: Inspector General (IG) of Prisons Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin enters Dhaka Central Jail, where Kamaruzzaman has been kept.

6:02pm: Kamaruzzaman wishes to be buried at his village home at his Bajitkhila Mudipara village home in Sherpur Sadar, his son Hasan Iqbal told The Daily Star.

5:50pm: DIG (prison) Golam Haider and Additional IGP of prison Col Md Fazlul Kabir enter the jail.

5:20pm: Family members leave Dhaka Central Jail after meeting Kamaruzzaman.

4:12pm: Twenty-one members of his family including his son went to the jail by two microbuses to meet Kamaruzzaman.

1:25pm: Jail authorities asked the family members over phoneto meet the Jamaat’s assistant secretary general at the jail.

12:15pm: Kamaruzzaman may be executed today, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan told The Daily Star over phone.

12:00pm: All necessary measures have been taken to avert untoward situation centering the execution, said DMP Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam at a press conference.

11:40am: The prisons authorities were yet to receive any directives from the government about execution though all preparations were taken, said Senior Jail Superintendent Forman Ali told The Daily Star.

9:55pm: Execution likely to be today, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan told The Daily Star.

9:15pm: Security around the Dhaka Central Jail, which was boosted suddenly, was relaxed and traffic was allowed to ply there again.

8:30pm: A sudden boost in security around the jail, visit of Dhaka’s assistant civil surgeon, top police officials, and keeping an ambulance ready near the jail gate.

8:25pm: The state minister told the media that Kamaruzzaman would not be given any further time.

9:50am: Two magistrates were seen appearing at the jail in a white car.
