Five crude bombs were exploded on Dhaka University campus and in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan of Dhaka today.

Unidentified miscreants blasted three crude bombs in front of Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University around 9:55 am, said DU Proctor Prof M Golam Rabbani.

Later, another bomb was exploded in front of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) building around 5:30 pm, he said.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

“A vested quarter, who wants to gain political benefit and destabilise the campus, might be behind the incidents,” the proctor said, adding that the authorities will take legal action against the culprits.

Besides, miscreants exploded a crude bomb in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan of Dhaka this noon.

Two persons threw four bombs around 12:15 pm and fled the scene by a motorcycle, Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station, told The Daily Star.

One of the four crude bombs exploded there, the police official said adding that police later recovered the three other unexploded crude bombs from the spot.

However, there is no report of casualty in the blast, said police.

On information, a bomb disposal team rushed to the spot around 1:00 pm and defused the three unexploded bombs, added the OC.
