The Detective Branch of police has claimed to have arrested seven persons for leaking question papers of recruitment tests through devices.

A team of Serious Crime Investigation of DB arrested the seven from different areas under Kafrul and Lalbagh police stations last night, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police at a press briefing at DMP media centre today.

They also seized 12 electronic devices, 16 micro head phones, 15 mobile phones, 25 SIMs and four books used for solving the question papers of different recruitment tests, he said.

The arrestees are Md Mahmudul Hasan Azad, Md Nahid, Md Russell Ali, Md Ruhul Amin, Md Khalekur Rahman Titu, Md Ahmed Zubair Saimon and Md Ibrahim.

In primary investigation, the arrestees admitted that they used to supply question papers of different recruitment tests and admission tests to the candidates in exchange of money, the DC said.

They leaked the question paper through electronic devices, he added.

A case was filed with Kafrul Police Station against at least 14 people, Masudur Rahman said adding that the drive is on to arrest the seven other accused.

Among the arrestees, Mahmudul Hasan, Nahid, Russell and Ruhul Amin are charge-sheeted accused in a case over a question paper leak incident of Dhaka University on October 20, 2017.

A total of 125 people including the four have been made accused in the charge-sheet submitted on June 23.
