Rail minister blessed with a baby girl

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque and his wife Honufa Akhter Rikta were blessed with a baby girl today.

Honufa Akhter gave birth to the baby girl weighing 2.5 kilogrammes around 3:15pm at Department of Gynaecology & Obstetrics at Dhaka’s Square Hospitals.

The minister made headlines when he married a 29-year-old woman at the age of 67 on October 31 in 2014.

Today, Dr Nargis Fatema’s conducted the caesarian section, sources at the hospital told The Daily Star.

Conditions of both the baby and mother are stable, added the sources.

Honufa Akhter was admitted at the hospital yesterday.
