Schoolgirl stabbed in Dhaka

A schoolgirl was allegedly stabbed today in Kakrail area of Dhaka.

The victim, Suraya Akhter, 15, an eighth grader of Willes Little Flower School and College in Kakrail, was stabbed around 12:30pm in front of her school.

A youth aged 22 to 24 stabbed her on left abdomen and left hand and ran away, said some of her schoolmates who rescued her from the spot.

Last reported, she was taking treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Tania Akhter, the victim’s mother, blamed a tailor shop salesperson of Eastern Mollika Shopping Complex, who, as she alleged, “stalked her daughter over mobile phone.”

Moshiure Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, said four people were detained from Boishakhi Tailors in Eastern Mollika based on complaint of the mother
