Yaba bust from courier in Rajshahi, 2 held

Two drug peddlers using courier delivery as means to smuggle contraband yaba tablets have been arrested from Rajshahi city, lawmen say.

Arrestees Md Apel, 29, and Md Rasel Mia, 28, hailing from Joypurhat, were caught red-handed with the tablets, our local staff correspondent reports.

A total of 19,510 yaba tablets, four mobile phones, and seven SIM cards were seized from their possession, said a release of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab).

They said to have admitted to have brought in this consignment of yaba from Cox’s Bazar through reputed courier services during primary quizzing.

Rab says, the duo was planning to smuggle the merchandise to Joypurhat.
