Covid-19: 41 die, 2,747 infected, 2,913 recover in 24 hours

Forty-one people have died from Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 3,781 and the death rate stands at 1.33 percent.

Two thousand seven hundred and forty-seven people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, adds the press release.

With the fresh cases, the total number of positive cases in the country stands at 2,85,091 and the current infection rate is 18.72 percent.

The overall infection rate stands at 20.46 percent, according to the release.

In the last 24 hours 2,913 Covid-19 patients have recovered as well.

The total number of recoveries stands at 1,65,738 and the recovery rate at 58.14 percent.

A total of 14,678 samples were tested in 91 labs across the country in the last 24 hours.

Seven hundred and thirty-seven people were put under isolation at the same time.

Among the deceased, 34 were male and seven were female. One was 31-40 years old, five were between 41-50, 11 within 51-60 and 24 above 60 years old.

Bangladesh is currently 16th on the list of worst affected countries in the world in terms of number of cases.

The position is one step behind Pakistan and one step ahead of Italy, according to worldometer.info.
