1 dead, 2 hurt in Mymensingh gas cylinder blast

A man was killed and two others were critically injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a filling station in Mymensingh this afternoon.

The incident took place around 3:30pm when Kubbat Hossain, 50, a labourer at Purbasha Filling Station at Masterbari area in Bhaluka upazila, was filling CNG-gas cylinders in a covered van at the filling station premises. 

Kubbat succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while covered van driver Suruj Ali, 30, and his helper Azhar Miah, 26, were critically injured, Mamun-ur-Rashid, officer in charge of Bhaluka Police Station, told our correspondent quoting local sources.

On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy.

The injured were admitted at MMCH with severe burn injuries, the police official added.
