2 kids, father drown in Chalan Beel

Bodies of a man and his two children were recovered from Chalan Beel in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj this morning.

The deceased were identified as Altaf Hossain, 40, a teacher of local Rarimzani Qaumi Madrasha of Tarash village, his son Lapul, 6 and daughter Anita, 8, reports our Pabna correspondent.

Altaf along with his two children went missing since they had gone for fishing in Chalan Beel around 11:00am last night, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarash Police Station, Ataur Rahman, quoting family.

Seeing the bodies floating in the Beel at Nafo Syedpur this morning, locals and police recovered the bodies, the OC said. “They drowned in the water body due to the strong current.”
