3 of a family found dead in Gazipur

Law enforcers today recovered the bodies of three members of a family from their house in Haidorabad area in Gazipur.

The deceased were identified as Kamal Hossain, 40, his wife Nazma Begum, 35, and their daughter Sanjida Kamal, 19, a first-year student of Uttara Adhunik Medical College.

The mother and daughter were found with their throat slit while Kamal’s body was found hanging in their house, reports our correspondent quoting Harun-ur-Rashid, superintendent of police (SP) in Gazipur.

The wife of Kamal’s big brother earlier told the reporters that her husband Delwar was returning to home after dropping his children to school that is when he saw the hanging body of his brother.

Kamal’s elder brother Delwar found the bodies when he returned home after dropping his children to school, the SP said quoting Delwar’s wife.

Hearing Delwar’s screams, neighbours gathered on the spot and informed police.

Police primarily suspected that Kamal might have killed his wife and daughter and then committed suicide, the SP also said.

Police are looking into the matter, he added

The bodies have been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
