A Dhaka court today placed four female members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on a four-day fresh remand in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The court also placed a JMB man on a five-day remand in the same case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Imdadul Haque passed the order after Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police of Rab Shamsul Haque produced the five before the court with a 10-day remand prayer for each.

Fuad-Al-Mahdi, the male JMB member, was detained yesterday from Lake Circus Road in Kalabagan area of the capital.

The four female detainees are Aklima Rahman Moni, Khadija Parveen Meghla and Ishrat Jahan Mou -- all fourth-year students of Pharmacy department at Manarat International University (MIU) -- and Istishna Afroz Oishee, an intern at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

They were detained on August 16 and placed on a five-day remand the following day.
