6 bodies recovered from Kirtonkhola after trawler capsize

Six bodies were recovered from the Kirtonkhola river today two days after a trawler capsized in the river in Barisal Sadar upazila. 

The deceased were identified as Zakir Hossain Dildar, 30, Iftekhar, 9, both hailing from Gazipur, Badsha Dhali, 65, of Munshiganj, Delwar Hossain, 24, Abdul Kuddus 28, of Mymensingh and Shah Ali, 28, of Gazipur.

The trawler capsized when another trawler collided with it in the river on Wednesday, our local correspondent reports quoting Bellal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Barisal Naval Police Outpost.

The victims were going to attend a sermon session in Char Monai in the upazila, the OC said.
