Two lawyers will be included in the prosecution team for conducting a case filed over Buet student Abrar Fahad murder as per his family’s wish, law Minister Anisul Huq said today.

“The trial of Abrar Fahad murder will be held at the Speedy Trial Tribunal for finishing the trial proceedings quickly. I have earlier said the government will take necessary steps so that the trial of this case can be held at Speedy Trial Tribunal and we are going ahead as per the plan,” he said.

The law minister disclosed the information while talking to reporters after a meeting with Abrar’s father Md Barkatullah at his Gulshan office in Dhaka city.

Abrar’s family has proposed names of some lawyers for the prosecution team to conduct the murder case, he said adding that two of them will be included in the team as per their request.

“They are satisfied with the current speed in which the proceedings of the case are running. All necessary steps will be taken so that the trial proceedings can be finished lawfully and without any error,” Anisul Huq said.

The law minister also said his door is always open for the Abrar’s family and he will take necessary steps if they (Abrar’s family) place any demand during the trial of the case.
