AL Bagerhat municipality office set ablaze

Miscreants set fire to a local office of ruling Awami League at Bagerhat Sadar municipality early today, destroying office equipments, documents and some other valuables.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 6:15am, our Bagerhat correspondent reports quoting Joynal Abedin Titas, station officer of Bagerhat Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Takchhir Hossain, an adviser of the municipality unit Awami League, told our correspondent that supporters of Awami League rebel mayoral candidate Mina Hasibul Hasan set the office on fire after they lost the December 30 polls.

Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Police Station, visited the spot.

No one has been detained in this connection so far.
