A bullet-hit victim of the Bogra Shia mosque attack is being shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment today.

Shahinur Islam, 35, imam of the mosque was referred to DMCH yesterday by a five-member medical team of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he was being treated, our Bogra correspondent reports quoting Rezaul Alam Jewel, vice-principal of the hospital.

An ambulance carrying Shahinur started from hospital premises around noon, said Mozaffar Hossain, secretary general of the mosque.

He is being accompanied by his father-in-law and a friend.

The ambulance will be given police protection, Additional Superintendent of Police (East) in Bogra Arifur Rahman Mandol said.

Of the two other injured, Abu Taher was receiving treatment Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital and his health condition is improving. Another victim Aftab Hossain was released from the hospital after given treatment.

Three armed assailants stormed a Shia mosque in Shibganj upazila and opened fire on praying people, killing one and injuring three others on November 26.

The dead is Moazzem Hossain, 70, of Haripur. He was a farmer and also muezzin of the mosque.
