Jobike, the country's first mobile application-based bicycle rental service company, rolled out its service at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) in Sylhet yesterday, with promises to reduce transportation problems within the campus.

After a year of successful testing in Cox's Bazar, the company launched in the Mirpur DOHS of Dhaka on January 5 this year, and later expanded to Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University.

Sust Vice-chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the service at 10am yesterday, in front of Academic Building - E, with Sust proctor Prof Zahir Uddin Ahmed and Jobike founder and CEO Mehedi Reza present, among others.

To avail the service of Jobike, one has to download the android mobile application, open an account with credentials and recharge the account from Jobike recharge point.

The app will show nearby docks with available bikes and provide a QR code, which has to be scanned to unlock the bikes from the dock.
