Dhaka raid: Injured Hasan remained missing for a year

Rakibul Hasan alias Rigan, an alleged militant activist who sustained bullet injuries during a joint drive in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area early today, has been missing for a year.

According to Rigan’s mother Rokeya Akhter, she filed a general diary with Bogra Sadar Police Station earlier after he had gone missing.

She was taken to Bogra Sadar Police Station where its officer-in-charge Abul Basar quizzed her in this regard.

Hailing from Jamilnagar area of Bogra, Rigan, son of late Rezaul Karim, passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2013 from Korotoa Multimedia School and College, his mother told police.

Later in 2015, Rakibul passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination from Shah Sultan Government College.

Rigan then got admitted to Retina Coaching Centre in Bogra to take part in the medical admission test before he went missing, Rokeya said.

There had been no communication between Rigan and his family members for a year, Rigan’s mother told the OC during the quizzing.

Meanwhile, agitated locals set fire to Jamaat-e-Islam’s student front Islami Chhatra Shibir run Retina and Focus coaching centres located at Sutrapur and Joleshawritola at 9:00pm.

On information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spots and brought the blaze under control with their half an hour effort.
