One dies, 7 burnt in Ctg commercial building fire

One died and seven others suffered burns in a fire that broke out at a commercial building in Chittagong city this evening.

The fire originated on the fourth floor of the five-storey building in Andarkilla area around 8:00pm, leaving at least nine people injuried, our Chittagong staff correspondent reports quoting police.

The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where one, Subhra Das, succumbed to his injuries, said Zahirul Islam, in-charge of CMCH police outpost.

Three of the seven injured are in critical condition, reports our correspondent.

Two units of firefighters managed to douse the blaze around 9:18pm.

Details of the fire incident could not be known immediately.
