Witnesses testify in 7-murder case in media presence

The hearing of sensational seven-murder case of Narayanganj took place today. Witnesses gave their testimonies and the hearing was open for media.

Judge Enayet Hossain of District and Sessions Judge's Court began recording statements around 10:30am, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.

Nur Hossain, who was present before the court, is the prime accused in the murder case. Among the 35 accused in the case, 12 accused are now on the run.

Selina Islam, wife of Nazrul Islam, one of the seven victims who was a panel mayor of Narayanganj city, testified before the court today.

Nazrul Islam, his four associates and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver -- were kidnapped separately, but around the same time from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27, 2014.

Six bodies were found in the Shitalakkhya river three days later and another one was found the next day.

Nur and his associates went into hiding following the abduction and killing of the seven people.
